As a mom, the first day of the kids going back to school was always memorable. It would mean the end of the summer and a huge reminder that the kids were growing up! I would buy them new gear for school, clothes, backpack etc, , to enhance that feeling of a new beginning. When my husband Brent showed me a photo of his friends kids on the first day back it struck a cord. Also, because (likely) the mom made a big effort with the girls in the photo. Brent showed the shot to me because of the faces the kids were pulling, and that made me laugh as well. I could only imagine too well the dad saying "smile!", Like Brent would do, and the kids going "But dad, its too bright!"(Looking into the morning sun). This classic image of two sisters in matching outfits on the first day of school is a perfect inspiration for a painting. Art work #175
